This is the original Spartan II mold.
COLLECTOR'S NOTE:
Over the years Mega produced four old articulation Spartan II's in blue Mark IV armor. All four version us the same body mold except for the shoulders.
Picture 1 shows the first three versions side by side.
Picture 2 shows version 1. Note the round shoulders, gray gloves and no paint applications on its boots (see gallery below). This figure is only found in the first Battle Unit set.
The figure in picture 3 has flat shoulders and gray gloves. This figure is only found in the second Battle Unit set. Some figures in this set have paint applications on the boot and some don't. The best way to ID this figure is by the flat shoulders and the gray gloves. Neither of the Battle Unit sets came with informational pamphlets so the figure ID number is unknown. (Until more information is known, the Janus Key Project will consider these to be the same figure.)
The fourth and final picture is of the blue Spartan II as it appears in the Battle for High Ground set and the Blue Team Combat Unit. Note the figure has flat shoulders, black gloves and black paint applications on its boots.
There is a fourth version of this figure in the 2014 Spartan Tribute Pack. This figure (not pictured below) is identical the High Ground figure BUT it has a flat shoulder on its right side and a rounded shoulder on its left side.
