According to the Mega Construx website, this is a 2010 release. This SET was probably releases in late in 2009 and then re-release in 2010 with new art work on the box. The copywrite date on the first box is 2009. The copywrite on the re-released box is 2010. The date on both set's of instructions is 2009. The content in both boxes was the same except the 2010 box had a promotional flyer for Mega Bloks' Dragon Universe Collection.
This the second time a set came with one green marine with a backpack and assault rifle and one purple brute with a gray brute shoot. The first time was with the UNSC GREMLIN set #96818.

The content in both boxes were the same with only two notable exceptions.
The 2010 contents included a flyer advertising Mega Bloks' Dragon Universe. The 2009 box had no inserts.
Both boxes had a purple 2x4 brick with a serial number printed on one of the long sides. The number on the brick should match the number ether stamped somewhere on the box or on a sticker usually found on the back of the box. The number on boxes where different.
