INFORMATION AND LORE BEHIND THE WEAPONS OF THE 2023 FAN VOTE
The mysterious Round 4 of the 2023 Mega Halo Fan Vote has begun and will continue until 11:59 pm (PT) Sunday, February 26, 2023.
In round one NEON SUPERFLY was the winner for the Warthog coating. Round two was for the Mongoose coating and the victor was GEN XII. During round three we voted for not one, but two fireteam coatings. The winners from round three where NEON SUPERFLY & ESTATE GOLD.
When Mega announced the 2023 Halo Fan Vote they never said anything about a round four. The voting community found out about this mysterious fourth round when voting started and there was a fourth icon indicating an extra round of voting. Many people, myself included, thought the fourth round would be for weapons coating.
Well I was close. We are not voting for a weapon coating but something much better. We are voting for a NEW weapon that will be permenanty add to the the Mega weapon rotation. And your weapon choices are...

CINDERSHOT
Weapon Type: Hardlight grenad launcher
Ammunition Type: Hardlight
Manufacture: Ferrarius Assembler Vats
Operation: Semi-automatic
First Appearance: Halo Infinite
Overview: The Cindershot was manufactured and developed by Ferrarius Assembler Vats. The Cindershot fires ionized particle grenades consisting of "hyper-charged splinter cores", which explode seconds after launching, damaging anything caught in its explosion.
SENTINEL BEAM
Weapon Type: Particle Beam weapon
Ammunition Type: Superheated negative charged ion particle beam.
Manufacture: Forerunner
Operation: Automatic
First Appearance: Halo: Combat Evolved
Overview: The Sentinel beam is a Forerunner directed energy weapon used by Aggressor Sentinels. The weapon is particularly effective against small Flood outbreaks, and is efficient at stripping energy shields. Although typically integrated into the structure of an Aggressor, it can be used as a hand-held weapon if scavenged from a destroyed machine.
Note: The Covenant Focus Rifle is an attempt at reverse-engineering the Sentinel Beam, though it has several functional differences.
HEATWAVE

Ammunition Type: Hardlight projectile

Operation: Semi-automatic
First Appearance: Halo Infinite
Overview: The Heatwave is a semi-automatic hardlight projector once used by Warrior-Servants of the Forerunner military. The weapon fires six projectiles in a set pattern."
DISRUPTOR
Weapon Type: Pistol
Ammunition Type: Electric surge bolts
Manufacture: Sicatt Workshop and Armory of Reckoning
Operation: Fully-automatic
First Appearance: Halo Infinite
Overview: The Sicatt Workshop Volt Caster or Disruptor is an electricity-based weapon utilized by the Banished during the Battle for Zeta Halo.
