15 Years of Halo/Mega
This week 15 years ago, only one week after the 2009 San Diego Comic Con, Mega Bloks kicked off its first big Halo fan interaction promotion.
During this promotion Mega gave away 10,000 Spartan figures. The first 10,000 fans who visited a special web-site link received 1 figure. Of the 10,000 given away, 9,900 received a Steel Spartan armed with a black shotgun. Randomly hidden within that lot were an additional 100 Active Camo Spartans armed with a clear Shotgun. (Note: the Steel Spartan had more of a Teal color.)
Both figures came with green camouflaged 2x4 block for a display stand. The Steel Spartan's block had what appears to be its lot number printed on one side while the Active Camo Spartan's block came with a number indicating which number of the 100 the figure was. For instance 1 of 100.
